Terms of Service
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using True Plate. If you have questions, contact us at support@trueplate.app.
By accessing or using True Plate, you agree to these Terms.
Using True Plate
True Plate provides restaurant discovery information based on community-shared experiences, reports, and restaurant details.
You agree to use True Plate lawfully and responsibly. You may not misuse the site or app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or submit false, misleading, abusive, private, or unlawful content.
Community content
True Plate may include user-submitted experiences, restaurant-provided details, sponsored visibility, and general informational content.
Community reports reflect individual experiences and may change over time. Restaurant menus, ingredients, suppliers, staff practices, and preparation methods can change at any time.
True Plate does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, availability, or outcome of any restaurant, menu item, accommodation, preparation process, ingredient, or dining experience.
No medical advice or safety guarantee
True Plate is provided for general informational purposes only. True Plate does not provide medical, nutritional, legal, or professional advice.
True Plate does not certify restaurants, audit kitchens, verify ingredients, or guarantee that any restaurant, menu item, kitchen, preparation process, ingredient, or accommodation is suitable for any person.
True Plate is not a safety guarantee. You are responsible for making your own dining decisions. Always confirm ingredients, preparation methods, cross-contact practices, staff procedures, and food-need accommodations directly with the restaurant before deciding what to order or eat.
Accounts and submissions
If you create an account or submit information through True Plate, you agree that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not violate the rights or privacy of others.
You may not submit content that is intentionally false, misleading, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, unlawful, promotional without permission, or invasive of another person’s privacy.
Do not submit medical records, private medical information, receipts with personal details, addresses, phone numbers, faces, or other identifying information that you do not have permission to share.
We may review, moderate, remove, limit, anonymize, or decline submissions at our discretion to help maintain a respectful and useful experience.
License to user content
When you submit content to True Plate, you grant True Plate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, moderate, modify for formatting, anonymize, and use that content to operate, improve, and provide True Plate.
This license allows True Plate to show community experiences, display uploaded photos when appropriate, protect reviewer privacy, remove identifying details, and preserve non-identifying structured evidence. You remain responsible for the content you submit.
Restaurant visibility and sponsorship
Some restaurants may pay for additional visibility related to specific food needs or locations. Starting paid checkout, completing payment, or otherwise purchasing sponsorship means you agree to these Terms, including this section.
Sponsorship is visibility only. Sponsored placement does not change community experiences, recent concerns, reports, or other restaurant evidence shown on True Plate. Sponsorship does not mean a restaurant is recommended, certified, verified, or guaranteed by True Plate.
Where sponsored visibility appears, True Plate may label it as sponsored or use similar disclosure language.
If enough concerned community experiences accumulate around a particular food need, True Plate will pause or remove sponsored visibility for that need. True Plate may also pause or end the sponsorship entirely when concerns are broader, repeated, or otherwise serious enough in True Plate’s judgment.
“Enough” is determined by True Plate from community experiences and related reports. Pausing or removing sponsored visibility does not change community evidence, does not certify the restaurant, and does not automatically entitle you to a refund. True Plate may adjust remaining sponsored needs or billing at its discretion.
You represent that you are authorized to buy sponsorship for the restaurant named at checkout, and that you will not describe sponsorship as a certification, endorsement, or guarantee.
Account deletion
Users can delete their account through the True Plate app. To learn more, visit trueplate.app/account-deletion.
Some public experiences may be anonymized rather than fully removed so True Plate can preserve non-identifying community evidence. For more information, review our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The True Plate name, branding, website content, app content, design, and original materials are owned by or licensed to True Plate and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, or used without permission, except as allowed by law.
Availability and changes
True Plate may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the site or app at any time. We may also update, remove, or limit content or features. We do not guarantee that True Plate will always be available, uninterrupted, current, or error-free.
Disclaimers and liability
True Plate is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, True Plate disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, True Plate is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from your use of or reliance on the site, app, community content, restaurant information, or dining decisions.
Age
True Plate is not intended for children under 13. By using True Plate, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old or that you have permission from a parent or guardian where required.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of True Plate after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
